3. How we get the information and why we have it

Most of the personal information we process is provided to us directly by you for one of the following reasons:

  • When you apply for an account with us.

  • From one of our reseller partners (customers) if you are an end-user and, in exceptional circumstances, we agree to support you directly if the reseller is unable to.

Under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the lawful bases we rely on for processing this information are:

5. How we use cookies

A cookie is a small file which asks permission to be placed on your computer’s hard drive. Once you agree, the file is added and the cookie helps analyse web traffic or lets you know when you visit a particular site. Cookies allow web applications to respond to you as an individual. The web application can tailor its operations to your needs, likes and dislikes by gathering and remembering information about your preferences.

We use traffic log cookies to identify which pages are being used. This helps us analyse data about web page traffic and improve our website in order to tailor it to customer needs. We only use this information for statistical analysis purposes and then the data is removed from the system. We also have a cookie that remembers whether you click hide, or not, on the Cookie Policy message – this cookie remembers your selection for 365 days.

Overall, cookies help us provide you with a better website, by enabling us to monitor which pages you find useful and which you do not. A cookie in no way gives us access to your computer or any information about you, other than the data you choose to share with us.

You can choose to accept or decline cookies. Most web browsers automatically accept cookies, but you can usually modify your browser setting to decline cookies if you prefer. This may prevent you from taking full advantage of the website.

6. What we do with the information we have

We use the information that you have given us to provide you with information about a product or service you require, help you to procure a product or service from a qualified and competent reseller or, if you are a customer of Syndico, improve the quality of our data to better support you.

We may share this information with:

  • Our manufacturer partner(s) if you are a Syndico customer and we are referring you to them for additional support.
  • One of our customers (a reseller partner) if you are an end-user and we are referring you to them for you to procure a product or service.

7. How we store your information

Your information is securely stored on our private company server (electronic) or in locked cabinets on-site (hard copies). We keep personal information for up to 7 years after:

  • A Syndico customer account is closed, or
