The Management team

Andrew Wilson
MANAGING DIRECTOR
Andrew formed Syndico in May 2015 and has almost 20 years experience in radio communication distribution. A strategic specialist, Andrew has taken all of his previous experience, including sales, management and director positions in the telecoms industry, to his role as Managing Director and has fundamentally changed the relationships PMR resellers are able to have with their distributor. Andrew is a huge Newcastle United FC fan, and has his work cut out at home where he is a father to three daughters – two of whom are twins!

Shona Barnett
OPERATIONS DIRECTOR
Shona founded Syndico alongside Andrew in May 2015 and shares similarly extensive experience in distribution. Shona ensures all-things operations and finance are run smoothly and properly, and has been instrumental in designing a back-office system and overseeing our ISO, Investors in People and Cyber Essentials accreditations. Whilst Shona is incredibly busy as a working mum, she has a passion for travel and wants to show her daughters as much of the world as possible – while they still want to go with their parents!
The Sales & Marketing team

Gareth Jones
HEAD OF SALES
A team member since 2015, Gareth heads up Syndico’s sales team and spends his time developing existing relationships and generating new business opportunities. Gareth’s career started in retail and hospitality where he developed a passion for relationship-based sales, gaining valuable experience talking to anybody… about anything! Away from work, Gareth’s passion is Rugby and still plays for Eastleigh RFC despite a serious leg injury in 2017. Gareth is the only Welsh member of Team Syndico, which makes Six Nations and World Cup tournaments very interesting at Syndico HQ…!

Sam Ogles
HEAD OF MARKETING
Sam joined the team in June 2017 after completing a degree in Sport Science. Sam joined the company as an internal account manager, and his job has naturally transitioned into a marketing role. Having completed CIM’s Certificate in Professional Marketing, Sam now oversees Syndico’s marketing strategy and day-to-day activities as well as supplier relationships. Sam is renown in the office for his dislike of paper, and is very particular about his desk layout…! When not at Syndico, Sam is a health and fitness enthusiast and is a semi-professional assistant referee on the English Football League.

Robert Bosman
BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT MANAGER – EUROPE
Stationed at our European office in Dijon, Robert has been with Syndico since February 2018 when we were appointed Hytera’s authorised France distribution partner. Robert has an absolute wealth of experience in the two-way radio industry, and has held roles at Motorola, Siemens and Simoco during a career spanning over 40 years. Born in South Africa, Robert has lived and traveled all over the world. Robert is passionate about art, architecture, technology and sport, and was delighted to see the South African Rugby team lift the World Cup trophy in 2019.

Kane Brewer
BRAND MANAGER – VOCOVO
Kane joined the company as an extension of the sales and marketing team in June 2019. Working closely with Gareth, Kane looks after the VoCoVo brand, generating end-user leads and developing opportunities for our reseller partners. When completing his undergraduate degree in Business Marketing, Kane gained extensive retail experience in a supervisory role at Legoland. He is enthusiastic about anything which will challenge his mind, in particular scientific subjects – he is an avid sports fan and supports Tottenham Hotspur FC.

Andrew Bird
BRAND MANAGER – DJI
Bringing over 20 years of sales experience to the team, Andrew is responsible for helping our reseller partners introduce DJI Enterprise to their business customers and, ultimately, win vital drone business. Andrew has recently spent 3 years working with the two leading business and mission critical communications publications, achieving some fantastic results in the process. Andrew has many strong relationships in the market and is known for his attention to detail and his customer-focused approach.

Matthew Lovering
BRAND MANAGER – ENTERPRISE MOBILITY
Joining the team in January 2021, Matthew looks after our enterprise mobility product ranges including Samsung rugged smart devices and Zebra Workforce Connect. Matt has vast experience as an account manager in the IT industry, gaining vital experience and understanding of the IT channel. Matthew is passionate about his work and is a goal-driven individual with a proven track record. In his spare time, Matthew likes to keep fit and stay relaxed – the latter is not always easy as an Arsenal FC fan…!
The Partner Solutions Team

Lindsay Philip
HEAD OF PARTNER SOLUTIONS
Lindsay has worked at Syndico since day one after completing a degree in Business Studies, and her job has grown alongside the company. Lindsay heads up Syndico’s Partner Solutions team, whose mission is to keep all our partners extremely happy by accurately processing orders and dealing with a wide range of enquiries. Lindsay’s specific responsibilities include stock ordering and management, monitoring of company reports and resolving complex customer enquiries. Lindsay LOVES a good cup of tea, and enjoys socialising with her friends and family.

Amy Hyde
PARTNER SOLUTIONS TEAM
Amy joined Syndico in January 2018 and very quickly became an invaluable member of the team. Amy does a bit of everything – when she isn’t answering the phone, she is processing orders, managing our hire fleet, investigating a variety of cases and organising returns. Amy has a wealth of experience in customer-facing IT roles and always delivers excellent customer service. The “Mum” of the office, Amy always keeps the team in line…! She loves travelling and enjoys exploring the world with her family, as well as staying fit and supporting Southampton FC.

Catie Allan
PARTNER SOLUTIONS TEAM
Catie joined the team in July 2018 as an apprentice, and has flourished in her role in the Partner Solutions Team. Prior to Syndico, Catie was a supervisor at New Look where she gained valuable experience in putting the customer first and working in a team. Catie spends a lot of her time at work answering the phone (she has the best telephone voice in the office!) and processing customer orders. A musical theatre enthusiast, Catie could easily be a professional singer and is known to spontaneously burst into song – exactly what everybody in the office needs at times!

Laura Smeeth
PARTNER SOLUTIONS TEAM
Laura has been Syndico’s Accounts Assistant since May 2018. She looks after accounts, purchase ledger, credit control, and anything else she can do to help! Laura worked as a property manager before becoming a Mum to two boys, who are growing up very fast, and she is currently working towards accounting qualifications. Laura is the “office motivator”, and has roped the entire Partner Solutions team into attending a very muddy boot camp three days a week. When she has time to take a breath, Laura enjoys meeting up with her friends to eat lots of puddings!
The Technical & Logistics team

Nick Vaas
TECHNICAL SERVICES MANAGER
Nick is an experienced and highly skilled radio engineer who is qualified in electronic engineering. Nick runs his own radio installation and servicing company, Vaas Communications, which sees him travel to many exotic (and sometimes not!) locations. His specialism is to consult our reseller partners on site surveys, system design and troubleshooting and programming, and is known to answer the phone from rooftops, inside tunnels, aboard ships and on top of ladders. When he isn’t thinking about radio, Nick likes to walk his dog and is a red wine connoisseur!

Robert Overington
WAREHOUSE MANAGER
Robert has been Syndico’s Warehouse Manager since its formation in May 2015. He has 20 years experience working in supply chain roles for both large corporate and small independent companies, and his mission is to oversee the smooth running of the warehouse. Robert’s warehouse has remarkably transformed since his first day when there were simply a few boxes on the floor – the 6,400 square foot space now holds around £4million of stock at any one time. Away from work, Robert loves football and enjoys taking his son to watch his beloved QPR FC.

Steve Pothecary
TECHNICAL SERVICES TEAM
Steve joined Syndico in August 2015, having worked in the industry for five years previously. Steve learned everything about the Hytera product portfolio from scratch, and now has extensive knowledge of all-things programming, firmware and software applications. Steve offers first-line technical support and has an impressive resolution success rate thanks to his diligent and methodical approach to problem solving. Steve is a huge music fan and used to be a radio station producer – his record collection is impressive and he plays in Southampton’s Ukulele jam!

Krys Halarewicz
WAREHOUSE TEAM
Krzysztof (Krys) joined Syndico in late 2017 to help Robert manage the increased volume of stock moving in and out of the warehouse. Krys performs many invaluable tasks on a day-to-day basis; he upgrades Hytera radios to the latest firmware as well as managing hire fleet logistics, programming customer orders and picking, packing and dispatching daily consignments. The work Krys does is vital in ensuring that we can accept orders for next-day delivery up until 5pm. Outside of work, Krys loves to socialise and is the Syndico bowling champion!
